Hope, u all had a great Easter. I enjoyed mostly, the break from my daily routine. Moreover, I could spend a lot of time just being at home with Rex, for a change. I was recently quite amazed to know the history of April Fool's Day . April Fool's day origin goes back to the 16tth century, when Pope Gregory in France adopted a new calendar and the New Year was changed from 1st April to 1st January. Imagine that! Before 16th century, New year's day was on 1st April and not 1st January . Lots of people were unaware of the change(thanks to the absence of media and the Internet at that age), and they still went on celebrating 1st April as New Years day. These people, unaware of the new calendar were called April Fools. Gradually ,with time, fools of all kinds and pranks and other practical jokes came to be associated with 1st April.
Isn't it funny to think that New Years Day used to be 1st April and not 1st January. Well, I cannot imagine myself having a new year party on 1st April. New year's celebrations are so deep rooted in us , only as 1st January, that its funny to imagine otherwise.
